Shining Spotlight : Hot Coffee Pot

HotCoffeePot isn't your average ROBLOXian artist, she draws people in a way I have never seen before, she adds unique backgrounds that fit the subjects personality, so than it shows more of who they are in their portraits that she makes. She has a really unique way of shading, its like as if it is 3-Dimensional almost real. Her concepts that she uses, are quite interesting, she makes the background common which adds more uniqueness and more interesting quality, such as the two below. We decided to sit down with her and ask her 6 questions, because 20 or 30 would be a lot of coming up with, and hard to answer.She owns her own group, which other artists can join and share their artwork, which Cian1023, is in as a high rank.

Throughout this post we will put examples of her drawings.

Question 1 : What is your main inspiration for your artwork, and why did it inspire you in the first place? Her answer : when I was younger, I watched a lot of Bob Ross (Famous artist) shows, and I really loved the idea of painting and drawing. Then, when I joined ROBLOX in '10, I got interested in digital drawing when I saw bethanyfrye's drawings. 



Question 2 : What do you draw the most? And why
Her answer : I love drawing people. Mostly girls, cause I haven't quite gotten the guy proportions down. I don't know why.. I just love drawing the eyes and hair especially.
Question 3 : Who is your favorite artist? And why, also what is your favorite artwork of theirs?


Her answer : My favorite artist is Akiane Kramarik, an AMAZING teen who had stunning paintings done by the age of eight. My favorite piece of art of hers.. Well, it has to be the portrait of Jesus she did when she was eight. It's truly amazing how talented she is.           

Question 4: What do you use to draw? And what are some effect tools/effects for that software?
Her answer : I love drawing with pencil and Painttool SAI. Painttool SAI is an awesome art program, in which I mainly use Pencil (for outlines), airbrush, (shading), and marker. (shading also.
For pencil, I mainly use a No.2 pencil (my best friend!) and my notepad. I love drawing realism and anime. 
Question 5: What kind of artwork are you planning to do in the future, and why?
Her answer : Future-wise, I'm mostly planning on artwork as a side job, since it is a hard thing to live off of. I plan to do portraits, and scenery, mostly.
Question 6: What are some drawing techniques that you use?
Her answer : One technique I really enjoy doing in PaintToolSAI, is using the marker tool and my intous5 wacom tablet's pressure sensitivity to make a creamy kind of shading.
